An Equine Canada Bronze Vaulting Competition

In keeping with the season, we encourage costumes in all barrel classes. Anything safe is welcome. Some costumes may also be worn for horse classes as long as they conform to the Vaulting Rules ... Attire must be formfitting and all articles of clothing, or parts thereof, must remain attached to the vaulter’s body at all times. Decorative accessories (not limited to but including belts, masks, jewellery) and props (not limited to but including hats, capes, canes, gadgets) are strictly forbidden in the arena.

Special prizes for artistic scores in each class, ribbons for all competitors

This competition is a sanctioned Equine Canada Bronze Competition Competition #14075, recognized in whole by the following and is governed by the rules of Equine Canada 308 Legget Drive, Suite 100, Ottawa, Ontatio K2K 1Y6. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current rules of EC and will be held and judged in accordance with the EC Rule Book.”

 

Statement of Principles per article A801

Equine Canada (EC), the national equestrian federation of Canada, supports adherence to humane treatment of horses in all competitions under its jurisdiction.

The EC is committed to:

The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel abusive nor inhumane.

Official Rules

All mounted classes will follow the Equine Canada Rules for Vaulting. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current rules of Equine Canada (EC) and will be held and judged in accordance with the EC Rules Book. Exhibitors are responsible for knowledge of the rules under which they are competing.

All individual Walk and Trot classes will complete one round with separate goes for compulsories and freestyle. All individual Canter classes will complete two rounds with separate goes for compulsories and freestyle. All Squads and Pairs classes will complete one round with separate goes for compulsories and freestyle.

Barrel classes will be 1 minute for individual, 90 seconds for doubles, and 3 minutes for team. A selection of barrels will be used. A mini trampoline may be used. Barrel classes will be conducted according to the Equestrian Vaulting Association of BC Recommendations for Barrel Classes at Vaulting Events.

Please ensure that each vaulter is eligible for the selected class(es) by referring to the eligibility rules set forth in the Vaulting Rules. If you are unsure about the eligibility of a vaulter for a given class please contact the event organizers.

Per Article A801, every entry at an EC-sanctioned competition shall constitute an agreement by the person responsible that the owner, lessee, trainer, manager, agent, coach, driver or rider and horse shall be subject to the EC constitution and all rules of EC and any additional rules set by the competition.  It is the responsibility of all individuals participating in any capacity in EC-sanctioned competitions to be knowledgeable regarding the EC constitution and the applicable rules of the EC and the additional rules, if any, imposed by the competition.  Do not participate in this EC-sanctioned competition in any capacity if you do not consent to be bound by the constitution and rules of EC and any additional rules imposed by the competition.

Rule updates for your information:

 1) As of 2014, Rule L210 states that “A steward and/or a judge is authorized to check the equipment of any horse at any time."  

2) Lungers as per the 2014 Rule L207 must be Adults under the Glossary in the EC General Rules: "Individuals are adults from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of nineteen." 

Cross Entering - We are able to offer cross entering between Walk, Trot and Canter classes at this show.

Horses: Any horse entered in any class at a competition may be selected for equine medication control testing while at the event location. Drug testing fees, as set by Equine Canada, are $3.50 per horse

 

Classes and Fees

       Equine Canada Medication Control fee: $3.50 per horse

1       Individual Classes Division D, C and B Walk, Trot and Canter $25.00

One round, separate goes for compulsories and freestyle

2       Team Classes Beginner Walk, Walk, Trot and Beginner Canter (canter compulsories and a walk freestyle) One round $10 per vaulter

3       Pairs Classes Beginner Walk, Walk and Trot. One round $15 per vaulter

4       Clinic Class: Vaulters not eligible for the above classes are invited to perform for the judge and receive comments to assist them in future training. $25.00

5       Green Horse: A training class with comments and suggestions from the judge. $20.00

All barrel classes $15 per vaulter per class. Remember - All barrel classes are costume classes so have fun!

  1. Individual beginner, intermediate and advanced freestyle
  2. Beginner, intermediate and advanced pairs freestyle
  3. Beginner, intermediate and advanced team freestyle
  4. Family freestyle (3 or more, at least one adult)

 

Important Information about this competition

Online Registration and entry form will be available at vaultcanada.org  No paper entries will be accepted, all entries must be submitted online here. One payment per club MUST be received by the entry deadline by cheque payable to the Cheam Vaulters, 8738 Butchart St. Chilliwack, BC V2P5S3 or by etransfer to [email protected]There will be NO refunds of competition entry fees for either withdrawal from the competition or cancellation of entry after the entry close date of October 10, 2014.

 

Liability Waiver forms must be completed and submitted to the show office before the start of competition. If a correctly filled out and signed waiver has not been received the vaulter will be scratched. Liability waiver forms will be sent to each participating club after entries close. 

 

Memberships & Licenses

Canadian vaulters, lungers and horse owners must be members of their provincial vaulting association and must have an Equine Canada bronze sport license or higher and third party liability insurance provided through membership in their provincial sports organization.

 

Pricing

All entry fees are in CDN $. Withdrawals or no-shows will be held liable to reimburse the organizer for the actual financial loss incurred as a result of the late withdrawal or no-show.

 

Music

Music must be submitted according to the EVA Standards for Submitted Music available elsewhere on this website. Although vocal music is permitted in all classes, this competition is a family-oriented event. All vaulters and coaches should ensure that music selections are appropriate for an all-ages audience. The music upload on this website will be available once entries close.

 

Horses & Stabling

*NEW* Day stalls will be available at a cost of $30 per day. You may reserve a stall when making your entries online. 

Note: Horse owners or the person responsible must provide proof of an equine influenza vaccination within 6 months of this competition. Proof of vaccination may be submitted at the coach check-in. All competing horses will be issued a show number that must be worn and visible, on the right hand side of bridle or halter.
